On October 31, visit two communities that observe Day of the Dead among flowers, candles, music and remembrance. The tour is designed as a respectful introduction to a living family tradition.
Meet at Oaxaca’s Zócalo at 8:00 p.m. A coordinator and certified bilingual guide accompany the group through the night.

A day to remember
01Meet at the Zócalo
Meet the team, receive guidelines for the evening and depart for the Central Valleys.
02Old Cemetery of Xoxocotlán
Walk among decorated graves and see families prepare flowers, candles and offerings in memory of loved ones.
03Santa María Atzompa
Visit the cemetery and learn about a celebration with Zapotec roots, music, candlelight and community gathering.
04Symbolic offering
Mezcal, candles and flowers are provided so the group can respectfully take part in an offering.
05Return to Oaxaca
Travel back during the early morning to the designated point in the city center.
