Explore the inside of the mountain at San Sebastián de las Grutas. The main route covers about 420 meters among stalactites, stalagmites and formations created over thousands of years.

More adventurous travelers can separately book a descent to the underground river or visit a cenote for swimming.

A day to remember

Arrival in San Sebastián

Meet the community team and receive safety instructions before entering the cave.

Cave circuit

Follow a guided 420-meter route through chambers filled with stalactites, stalagmites and mineral formations.

Optional underground river

Take an adventure detour that descends approximately 50 meters from the main trail. Booked separately.

Optional cenote

Add a visit to a cenote with swimming time when local conditions allow.

Return to Oaxaca

Travel back to the city’s Zócalo in the tour vehicle.
